SMS Consent
Participation in the San Jose School of Music SMS messaging program is voluntary and is not a condition of enrollment, purchase, or receiving services from San Jose School of Music.
Providing a mobile telephone number alone does not constitute consent to receive SMS messages.
Students, parents, and guardians are provided a separate opportunity to consent to SMS communications. When an SMS consent option is presented electronically, it is optional and is not selected by default.
Individuals who decline SMS messaging may still enroll in and receive services from San Jose School of Music.
Example SMS Consent
When requesting SMS consent, San Jose School of Music may present language substantially similar to the following:
☐ I agree to receive text messages from San Jose School of Music regarding lesson reminders, schedule changes, cancellations, instructor availability, billing reminders, and other school-related communications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance. Consent to receive text messages is optional and is not a condition of enrollment or purchase.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies depending on lesson schedules, school activities, and the communications necessary for a student's enrollment.
